I HATE the plague quarter of Naxx. Well let me rephrase, I HATE the safety dance. I am a visual learner. I have to see what I need to do in order to learn it. You can explain something to me until you turn blue, I still won’t get it, and I am by no means dumb (I graduated 7th in my high school class, we had 21 people in white btw. I had a 4.2 gpa, yes I was that kid). I just have to figure it out on my own. Today’s picture is what I saw for most of our first attempts at the safety dance.
Yeah we were 8 manning it. We actually plan on extending the raid until we complete it with 8 people. The midnight raiders will be badass
.
I do have a proud announcement to make though.
When we finally downed Heigan, all 8 of us were alive. I did have to battle rez Nakago, but I managed to live through the safety dance.
I BEAT THE DANCE!!!!!
go me!

I have yet to live through the dance. Maybe one day.
Grats on beating it!

There’s a video somewhere… (I’m at work or I would track it down for you)… that shows the pattern of the acid without any of the distracting fight stuff going on.
For me, I divide the platform into quarters. Draw imaginary lines from the center of the platform through the front corners of the platform to the edge of the room and a third line from the middle of the leading edge of the platform to the edge of the room. That marks off the 4 acid areas. I aim to be in the middle of each area as the acid is in the previous quadrant.
Acid only does damage as it’s going up, once it’s falling you can safely move into it (assuming your graphics are reasonably well aligned with what is actually happening).
It really does get easier each time you get through it.

Yeah I’ve seen the video, I’ve had the whole “mark the room this way” speech. It never worked for me.
I guess I am a hands on visual learner.
I’ve been told in the past to stand where the acid just went down, but I’ve never been able to “see” where that was before. Last night I finally “saw” the spots. I couldn’t even tell you where they were if I was looking at a map. In fact I probably won’t even remember until I have to run that fight again.
Another problem I kept having was I was trying to heal while running. This is bad because I run with my mouse, but also have to use my mouse to heal people with HoTs other than wild growth. This means I would have to stop running to use the mouse on Vuhdo then try to run again. I finally just said to hell with it and tried spamming wild growth. Which worked >.<
With 8 people, or rather 4 Naxx 10 geared dps, we managed to finish the plague quarter in just under 2 hours. We did have some really long fights. I can't wait to see how long Patchwork is going to take.

Easy solution.
Don’t heal people while running. =)
Seriously though, they need to be taking care of themselves. No healer should ever die on account of someone else doing something stupid.

LOL if only my reactions worked that way.
I have wild growth attached to my 1 key. It is easy enough for me to spam it while running.
It was trying to pop rejuvs on people that did it in for me.
It is tough trying to get over the need to keep the bars green.

EEEE! Congratulations! I was so happy the first time I managed to do this. I’m exactly the same – it didn’t matter how many times people told me, or how many times I watched videos, it wasn’t until I’d done it a few times (and died humiliatingly) that I began to get a ‘feel’ for where I was supposed to be moving. Also I only just feel confident enough to heal through it, and then then it’s just a frisbee or two.

Thanks!!
I still hate this fight though lol
