Before anyone bitches me out, no it’s not optimal, (especially the Bosskilling portion) hence why it says For Beginners. 😉 There’s a limit to how much of my life I’m willing to waste flowcharting to get all the little nuances. >.> But it was fun in a perverse way to map out my decision-making process. I’d actually like to see flowcharts for other classes just to see what they use as their basis for strategy and skill use…

A Blood DK having issues? They have the easiest rotation of the 3 specs, and aside from a few changes since launch to my knowledge the rotation hasn’t changed, and if it has it was changing one skill for another.
I HATED Unholy I always felt I was waiting for runes to come back, granted you have the occassional GCD to wait for a rune to be useable in blood, but not as badly as when I tried unholy.

I’m not exactly sure what her problem is, she just says she doesn’t “get how they work.” She watched me run around and massacre stuff on mine and just couldn’t follow along.
I think it’s a resource management issue, balancing the runes and the RP at the same time. Until I get a chance to go watch her play around, I won’t really know what to do for her.

I have a DK set aside that I want to frost tank with but I’m not real keen on the idea of dual wielding as a tank. Not for mechanic reasons, I’ve reviewed enough math that makes it sound viable, I just like the image of tanking with a big ass sword and swirling, cold mist around me.

The majority of what I have seen still shows 2H tanking beats DW. Half the idio…errr players that DW tank use 2 fast tanking weapons, which may do fine for threat in fast heroics, but not so much (based on various posts and threat generation charts I have seenon the subject) for long boss fights where slower dps’ing weapons generate a considerably higher amount of threat over the course of the fight (I know shocking right).
The there is the hit cap issue, which when you DW you essentially lose your realistic ability to cap your white swings, at least easily.
Most DK tanks I’ve gone against that use 2H weapons, unless they are fail tanks I rarely if ever pull off of, the latter is not true for the DW tanks I’ve had the extreme displeasure of grouping with, even after waiting a full 5-6 count b4 attacking. The only exception was one that was using DPS weapons, not tanking ones..

But the blues keep saying that the intent of the frost tank kit is to have them DW… the hit cap scares me. Since I am not a true hardcore elitist jerk I will most likely say fuck it, frost tank with a 2hander, and spit on Blizzard’s intended vision for it conflicts with my own.

Dilynrae is exactly correct. I use a big ole 2H sword with a 2H spec when I’m tanking. I’ve seen far too many people trying to DW tank with the wrong weapons. Heck, I’ve seen far too many people trying to DW dps with the wrong weapons.
